IMTS is a major U.S. manufacturing technology event covering advanced manufacturing, machining, automation, digital manufacturing, software, production technology and related manufacturing systems.
Why This Event Matters for Manufacturers
For small and midsized manufacturers, IMTS is one of the clearest places to see how machining, automation and digital manufacturing are converging. Most of the equipment and automation on the floor only pays off when the surrounding systems keep up: accurate bills of materials, material requirements planning that reflects real lead times, production schedules that match actual capacity, and shop-floor data that reaches the people making decisions. Manufacturers walking the show are worth encouraging to ask a second question after "what can this machine do?" — namely "what will it take to plan, purchase, schedule and track the work around it?"
